Peggy McLeod Buchanan, age 86 of Broadway, died Wednesday (9/27/2017) at her home. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Duncan Hinton McLeod and Lola Bina Groce McLeod. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, one brother and her husband Warren G. Buchanan. She was a member of the Countryside Presbyterian Church and was retired from Walmart. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday at the Countryside Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dave Kinney and Rev. Jack Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Countryside Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Staley of Lillington, NC, Joan Shaw and husband Mack of Lillington, NC and Sheila Gross of Benson, NC. Sons Ronald Craig Buchanan of Broadway, NC and Randy Buchanan and wife Vickie of Sanford, NC. Sister Mildred McLeod of Charlotte, NC, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the family home.
