Preston D. Parker, age 80 of New Hill, passed away on Tuesday (12/10/2019) at Transitions Hospice Care in Raleigh.  He was born in Johnston County, son of the late Atlas Parker and Lola Mae Tart Parker.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Linda Parker Lee.  Preston was a graduate of Moncure High School Class of 1960.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army and in 2001 retired from CSX Railroad with over 30 years of service.  He was an avid outdoorsman, loved gardening and going to auctions.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday (12/14/2019) at 11:00 am at the New Elam Christian Church with Rev. Ed Earp officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the New Elam Christian Church Cemetery.  Surviving is his wife Patsy Reid Parker of the home. Children Rob Parker and wife Tracy of Royersford, PA. Stephanie Stegall of Apex, NC and Frank Stegall of Warrenton, NC.  Sisters Hilda Nelson (Neil) of Sophia, NC, Joyce Smith (Garland) of Broadway, NC, Sue Diggs (Bobby) of New Hill, NC, and Anne Sears (Dennis) of Sanford, NC.  Brothers Mack Parker (Dolores) of New Hill, NC, Gordon Parker (Vivian) of Moncure, NC, Tim Parker (Jeanette) of New Hill, NC and Kent Parker (Karen) of New Hill, NC.  Grandchildren Katie Parker, Colin Parker, Lukas Locklear and Evan Locklear.
