Rabon Gene Thomas, age 75 of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (4/7/2015) with his family by his side. He was born in Lee County on March 26, 1940, son of the late Remis Thomas and Naomi Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Linda Thomas. He was a retired farmer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. James Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving are his daughters, Teresa Jackson and husband Allen Jackson, Sharon Stone, Shelby Boggs, Melissa Nauertz, Jennie Thomas and Joyce Thomas all of Sanford, NC; Sister Joyce Koury and husband Robin Koury of Sanford, NC; Twenty grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
