Ray Thomas Smith of Moncure, formerly of Prosperity, SC, departed this earth on November 6, 2013. He was born in Lee County to Joe Thomas Smith and Irene B. Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Brenda S. Tillman. He was a graduate of Sanford Central High School, retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad and worked several years at the Country Club of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife Linda S. Smith of the home and two sons Ray D. Smith of Fort Lee, VA and Sean T. Smith of Prosperity, SC and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
