Richard Wayne "Birdman" Comer, age 57 of Sanford, died Saturday (1/24/2015) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was on September 28, 1957, son of the late Sam Buck Comer and Mabel Carleen Wilson Comer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Peggy Pressley and his brother Kenneth Comer. The family will hold a private service at a later date. Surviving are his wife Patricia Jewel Comer of Sanford, NC; Daughters April Gail Comer of Sanford, NC and Tonya Comer Dolinger of Lynchburg, VA; Sons Richard Wayne Comer Jr. and Anthony Ed Comer of Sanford, NC; Sisters, Della Smith and husband Loyd, and Connie Wyndham and husband Condairy of Sanford, NC; Brother Sammy Comer and wife Linda of Broadway, NC; Sixteen grandchildren.
