Richard Wayne" Heavy Chevy" Boyd, age 57 of Lillington, passed away on Tuesday (12/6/2022) at his home.  He was born on April 28, 1965 in Lee County, son of the late Royce Wayne Boyd and Carolyn Virginia McIntyre Boyd Godfrey.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Jason Scott Boyd and his step-father, Louis Godfrey.  Richard loved to fish and hunt.  He enjoyed riding around the country side and enjoyed drinking a beer.  He loved his special fur baby Sadie the K-9 and Bootsie the cat.  He was a truck driver for Sanford Contractors.  Surviving is his wife, Cindy Scott Boyd of the home.  Daughters, Jessica Boyd Taylor (Jonathan) of Lillington, NC and Annie Crawford of Sanford, NC.  Sister, Kay Boyd Hobson of Sanford, NC; brother, Dennis Boyd of Sanford, NC .  Mother and father-in-law Janice and David Lee Scott of Sanford, NC.  Sister-in-laws Beth Singer (Rusty) and Mary Lee Byrd (Thesley) of Sanford, NC, three grandchildren and several nieces.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at Broadway Town Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
