Robert Scott Brown, of Chapel Hill passed away on Saturday (5/9/2020) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.  He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Alvin Lee Brown and Esther  Yow King.  Scott played the piano by ear and music was his passion.  He was a people person, a ray of light who never met a stranger and once you met him, he immediately stole a piece of your heart.  He enjoyed feeding the neighborhood deer and spending time at the beach.  The family will hold a service to celebrate his life at a later date.  He is survived by his sisters, Rhonda Brown Rogers and husband Bryan of Angier, NC, Kim Brown Thomas and husband Bruce of Sanford, NC, Alecia Brown Adams of Sanford, NC, brother John Cassin Short of Kenley, NC; and longtime and dear friend Jennifer Parsons of Chapel Hill, NC.    Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
