Robert Eugene(Bob) Vickers, 60, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at Cross Road Retirement Community.
Mr. Vickers was born in Randolph County on March 31, 1956 to Garland and Mary(Mag) Vickers. Bob graduated from Eastern Randolph High School. He was formerly employed by Smith Funeral Home in Broadway, NC. Bob loved his time at Cross Road Retirement Community and his family wants to thank the staff for their care and love shown him during his time there. Bob is survived by his sister, Wanda Cleckler of Texas and her husband Ted, his brothers Jerry of Ramseur and his twin brother Doug of Asheboro, a nephew David McIntyre of Mississippi. Bob also had seven great-nieces and nephews as well. Bob also enjoyed his four-legged furry friends Tinkerbella, Lana, Cody and Snowy. There will be a celebration of his home going on Wednesday, Feb 15, 2017 at 2 pm in the Activity Room at Cross Road Retirement Community. His service will be conducted by Rev. Gary Mason, Rev. Greg Arnold, with music by Renea Henderson. A private graveside inurnment will follow at a later date.
