Robert "Bob" Houston Kennedy, age 85 of Sanford, passed away on Monday (7/31/2023) at his home.  He was born in Lee County on November 24, 1937, son of the late Glen Manley Kennedy and Elva Hunter Kennedy.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Bob retired from Moen after many years, where he was never late or missed a day of work.  He enjoyed working and stayed busy all the time even after his retirement.  He was a lifetime member of Poplar Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed NASCAR racing.  Funeral services will be held on Friday (8/4/2023) at 11am at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Fallon Melvin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.  Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Margaret "Peggy" Campbell Kennedy of the home.  Son, Tony Kennedy and wife Donna of Sanford, NC.  Brother, Charles Kennedy of Sanford, NC.  Grandchildren, Dana Mauldin and husband Scott of Sanford, NC and Kasey Sanders and husband Chris of Pittsboro, NC.  Step-granddaughter, Brandy Thompson of Sanford, NC and eight great-grandchildren.
