Robin Hart Koury, age 87, of Sanford and West Palm Beach, Florida, died Wednesday (6/15/2016) at his home. He was born in Guilford County, son of the late Widiah Koury and Edith Rountree Koury. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph Dixon Koury. Robin was a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Engineering and was Vice President of Koury Company from which he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Sanford Rotary Club and the Sanford Elks for many years. Private graveside services will be held at the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tom Welborn officiating. The family will receive friends at their residence in Sanford on Thursday evening from 6-8pm. Surviving are his wife Melba Joyce Thomas Koury of the home; Daughters Marvel Koury of Wilmington, NC and Pat Koury of California; Sons Robin Koury Jr. of Sanford, NC, Steve Koury of Sanford, NC Marvin Koury of Concord, NC, Billy Thomas of Cary, NC and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations are made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1836 Doctors Drive Sanford, NC 27330.
