Roger Lane Carter, age 68 of Lillington, died Tuesday (11/30/2021) at the SECU Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home in Pittsboro.  He was born on April 4, 1953, son of the late Tony Albert Carter and Edna Mae Christian Carter.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Roger enjoyed farming, gardening, and raising tomatoes.  He also loved to go fishing and hunting.  Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Friday at Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ramon Atkins officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Cool Springs United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  Surviving is his son, Colby Lane Carter and wife Lena of Clayton, NC.  Daughters, Brandie Allison Journigan and husband Shawn of Franklinton, NC and Jessica Ann Wall and husband Daniel  of Dunn, NC.  Brother, Stacy Albert Carter of Montana.  Grandchildren, Catherine Marie Carter, Shawn Thomas Journigan, Christian Shawn Journigan, Ethan Wall, Teagan Wall, Zander Wall and Jayday Wall.   Aunt and Uncle, Iva and Norman Christian of Lillington, NC, and special cousin, Ann Christian Milton of Lillington, NC.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
