Ronald Neill Thomas, age 70 of Sanford, died Wednesday (5/23/2018) at his home. He was born in Lee County, son of the late George Walker Thomas and Ruth McFarland McNeill. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved grandfather Neill "Pap" McFarland. He loved his horses, grilling and spending time with his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00pm at the Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Linda George Thomas of the home. Sons, Michael Neill Thomas and wife Susan, and John Eric Thomas all of Raleigh, NC. Sisters Bonnie Thomas and husband Billy of Broadway, NC, Bobbi Garrett and husband Bob of Broadway ,NC and Vicki Dickens and husband David of Sanford, NC. Brother David McFarland of Broadway, NC and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
