Rosella Mason Thomas, age 91 of Sanford, died Monday (3/11/2019) at Sanford Health and Rehab.  She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Henry Mason and Myrtle Greene Holder Mason.  Rosella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Robert Thomas and her son Dwight Edward Thomas.  She was a graduate of Campbell College and retired as an Educator with the Lee County School System.  She served as a Senate Page during World War II and was also a member of the Olivia Presbyterian Church.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday at the Olivia Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Walton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery.  Surviving are her sons, Bob Thomas and wife Pam of Wilson, NC, Bruce Thomas and wife Kim of Broadway, NC and Don Thomas of Hillsborough, NC.  Sister Rena Wallace of Greensboro, NC ; Brother Vallon Mason of Olivia, NC, six grandchildren Sarah Thomas, Yarko Thomas, Trey Thomas, Robert Thomas, Brent Thomas, Wesley Thomas and great granddaughter Eden Rose Thomas.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Baptist Children's Home of NC, PO Box 338 Thomasville, NC 27360 or 1-800-476-3669.
