Roy Vallon Mason age 86 of Sanford, died Thursday (1/23/2020) at his home.  He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Henry Mason and Myrtle Green Holder Mason.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Charles Bradley Mason, sister Rosella Mason Thomas and his wife Peggy Mills Mason.    Roy was a farmer and loved farm life especially caring for his cows and was an active member of the Olivia Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday (1/26/2020) at 3:00pm at the Olivia Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Johnson and Rev. George Walton officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Surviving are his Sons, Stephen Mason and wife Rene' of Lillington, NC, Brian Mason and wife Pam of Sanford, NC and Craig Mason and wife Pam of Sanford, NC.  Daughter Diane Mason Phillips of Southern Pines, NC and his sister Rena Wallace of Burlington, NC.  Grandchildren Ricky Kipfer and wife Jamie, Jennifer Gariepy, Matt Mason, Tyler Mason and great grandchild Logan Kipfer.  The family will receive friends from 2-3pm, one hour prior to the funeral service at the Olivia Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.  In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Olivia Presbyterian Church.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
