Rufus Brady Thomas, age 59 of Sanford, died Wednesday (4/25/2012) at his home. He was born in Lee County on October 13, 1952, son of Evaline Sloan Thomas and the late Rufus Henry Thoams. He was preceded ind death by his father and was a truck driver for many years with Standard Trucking. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. John Hackney officating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery . Surviving are his mother, Evaline Sloan Thomas of Sanford, NC; Brother Milton Thomas of Sanford, NC and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of Milton Thomas, 2724 Cox Mill Road Sanford, NC. Arrangments are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
