He was an active member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church and had been a deacon, Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. Always busy, always ready with a joke and or a Bible verse, Russell loved people and he loved the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marjorie, daughter Rhonda Lee (Brack) of Apex, Grandchildren Jennifer Crowell (Tony) and Grayson Lee. Great grandchildren Madison and Ryan Crowell of Clayton , sister Colleen Spencer of Cary, nieces, nephew and extended family and many cherished friends. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
