Obituary

Ruth Marie Perry (Marie or Cita) of Sanford, N.C. Died April 2, 2024 at Sanford Rehabilitation and  Nursing facility. Ruth Marie Adams was born in Atlanta Georgia on January 11, 1932. She married the late Walter O. Perry in 1950 and became Marie Perry. She was a member of Rocky Fork Christian Church in Sanford N.C. She was a remarkable wife and mother. From growing up in Atlanta, riding trolleys with her sister Marion and living in a cotton Mill house to wonderful homes all across the U.S.A. while her husband was in the U.S. Air Force. She raised four children and was an amazing mother who ensured her family had a clean comfortable home to come home to. She did everything she could to ensure the family held and stay together while her husband was on alert for several years during the Cold War and also during the Vietnam war. She managed to take her daughters to baton practice, parades, competitions, football games, cheerleading, and her sons to
band practice, baseball games, and Boy Scouts. She kept a beautiful yard and garden all by herself.  Her children's friends were always welcome into our home. She was a fabulous cook and suppertime was like a party every night. She encouraged us to talk about anything at the table. Sundays were a time of kids and friends laying on the bed with all of us reading the newspaper and especially the funnies. She raised four children and helped raise four grandchildren along with their loving grandfather. Cita was a fabulous domestic engineer. She loved to cook, sing, go shopping, take car rides, go out to eat and go to church. Her family called her Mamacita and friends called her Cita. She was the sweetest person ever. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Norman Albert Adams and Mary Magdalene Hammond Adams, her brother, Lamar Adams, her sisters, Barbara, Cordell and Marion Ray. She is also proceeded in death by her husband Walter O. Perry, her sons Walter Mitchell Perry and Charles Michael Perry.
