Sam Parker, age 70 of Sanford, passed away on Friday (1/10/2020) at his home.  He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Brody Parker and Medie Ellen Noles Parker.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Doris Williford, Brother Wendell "Peanut" Parker and his daughter Tammy Gail Godwin.  Sam was retired from Lee County and was a park ranger for the Deep River Association.  He was an artist and was a jack of all trades.  Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday (1/18/2020) at the Northview Christian Church with Rev. Ronnie Jones and Rev. Betty Jones officiating.  Surviving is his wife Diane Joy Pomeroy  Parker of the home.  Sisters, Magdalene Gillespie of Raleigh, NC and Brenda Goldston of Fuquay Varina, NC.  Brothers Kirby Parker and wife Dianne of Bennett, NC, Erby Parker and wife Rosa of Sanford, NC, Dan Parker of Sanford, NC and Donnie Parker and wife Sue of Sanford, NC.  The family will receive friends in the Northview Christian Church Fellowship Hall, at 10 am Saturday, one hour prior to the memorial service.
