Samuel James Womack, age 56 of Sanford, died Friday (3/6/2020) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.  He was born in Lee County, son of Zula Smith Womack and the late John Wesley Womack Sr.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday (3/10/2020) at Baptist Chapel Church with Rev. George Stallings officiating.  Burial will follow in the Baptist Chapel Church Cemetery.  Surviving is his mother Zula Smith Womack of Sanford.  Wife Donna Laura Finn Womack of the home.  Daughters Danielle B. Womack and Georgie C. Womack both of Chapel Hill, NC.  Sons Justin K. Womack of Cameron, NC and Joey W. Maddox of Sanford, NC.  Brothers Mike G. Womack (Rhonda), and John W. Womack Jr. all of Sanford; and five grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the Baptist Chapel Church.  In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations are made to Smith Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
