Sarah Ellen Thomas, age 49 of Sanford, died Friday (5/31/2019) at her home.  She was born on July 5, 1969, daughter of James Robert Thomas Jr. and Leslie Williams Marsh.  She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Rosella Mason Thomas, her grandfather James Robert Thomas Sr. and her Uncle Dwight Thomas.   Sarah was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She was a wonderful chef and shared her culinary talents with many in her community.  She also loved music.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday (6/8/2019) at 4pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating.  Surviving is her father James Robert Thomas Jr. and wife Pamela of Wilson, NC.  Mother, Leslie Williams Marsh of Reading, Massachusetts.  Brother James Robert "Trey" Thomas III. Of Raleigh, NC.  Uncles Bruce Thomas and wife Kim of Sanford, NC, Donald Thomas of Hillsborough, NC and Dr. Bill Williams.  Step-mother Karen Winston Goodman of Boone, NC and Sarah's special friend Mark Morton of London, England.
