Sharon Lynn Wood Lett, 74 of Sanford, died December 29, 2021 at her home after suffering with Parkinson's Disease for over 17 years.  She was born November 6, 1947 in Clayton, NC in Johnston County, daughter of the late Paul Jackson Wood and Margaret Worley Wood.  Sharon grew up in Lee County and attended Broadway School and Sanford Junior High School.  Sharon worked as a teacher assistant at Broadway Elementary School for over 20 years until her retirement in 2009.    Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Doyle "Jimmy" Lett.  Two sons, William Doyle "Billy" Lett and wife Kim Capps Lett and Michael Wayne Lett and wife Emily Lett.  Four grandchildren, Chelsy Elizabeth and husband Wesley Godwin, Tyler Leslie Lett, Jared Lett and wife Ashley Lett, Joshua Lett and Haley Riggins all from the Buckhorn Community.  Three great-grandchildren, Ellie Ann Lett, Ruby Claire Godwin and Madelyn Joanne Godwin.  Sisters, Rebecca "Beckye" Wood and Deborah "Debbye" Wood Sloan and husband Allen Sloan all of Broadway.  Two sisters-in-love, Carolyn Lett McNeill and husband Pete McNeill and AlexSandra "Sandy Lynn" Lett and husband Michael Yarborough.  Several nieces and nephews.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws Bud and Ruby Lett.  Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday at Moore Union Christian Church, 4294 Buckhorn Road where Sharon taught Sunday School for over 35 years.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Moore Union Christian Church Missionary Fund, 4294 Buckhorn Road Sanford, NC 27330.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
