Solon James Jr., age 93 of Broadway, died Friday (10/9/2020) at his home.  He was born in Duplin County, son of the late Solon James Sr. and Rovene Fountain James.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II.    The family will hold a private family burial at a later date.  Surviving is his daughter Linda James Foster of Broadway.  Son, Steven C. James and wife Linda of Sanford, NC.  Brother Earl Jennings James of Jacksonville, Florida.  Grandchildren Timothy James of Wilmington, Jonathan Foster of Broadway, NC and Jordanna Foster of Sanford, NC.  The family will receive friends on Sunday (10/11/2020) from 2-7pm at the family home.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
