Terry Ray Deaton, age 59 of Sanford, passed away on Friday (10/20/2023) at Wake Med Cary.  He was born on November 28, 1963, son of the late Robert Fulton Deaton and Rebecca Ann Brown Waddell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Lee Deaton and Ronnie Fulton Deaton, sister, Peggy Sue Wooling and his first wife, Katherine Allen Deaton.  Terry was a Veteran of the United States Army and was an avid Redskins fan.  He was a hard worker and loved AC/DC.  Surviving is his wife, Mary Ann Deaton of Sanford, NC.  Daughters, Melissa Sue Deaton of Mexico, Cherish Lynn Deaton (Derrion) of Sanford and step-daughter, Trisha Ann Kirkwood of Texas.  Sisters, Emily Deaton (Larry) of Sanford, NC, Robin Robinson (Terrence) of Sanford NC, Brenda Buckner (Lee) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Kathy Foote (Carlos) of Easley, South Carolina and several grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Friday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway.   Burial will follow in the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday evening at the Smith Funeral Home, Broadway and other times at the home of Emily Deaton,  4010 Carson Drive, Sanford.   Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com
