Obituary

Todd Phillip McNeill, age 59 of Broadway, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 with his wife Susan. He was born September 2, 1963 son of the late Phillip Lee McNeill and Bonnie Waymon Thomas McNeill.  He is preceded in death by his parents. He was a wonderful father who spent time as a soccer, T-Ball, and baseball coach as well as serving as a boy scout troop leader where he often took time away from his constant work schedule to participate in camping trips and other scout activities in order to spend as much time as possible with his children who were ever and most important in his life. Todd was a faithful member of Friendship Masonic Lodge #763 AF&AM, where he was serving as the Junior Warden. He was a member of the Valley of New Bern Scottish Rite and President of the Lee County Scottish Rite Club.  He was self-employed. He and his wife Susan started Todd's Maintenance and Construction, Inc. in 2008 doing industrial millwright and construction services. After 12 years in business, they decided to retire as he had been in this line of work for over 35 years.  He was great cook and often credited with providing enjoyable meals at lodge meetings. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Papa) and a friend to all who knew him.  Surviving is his wife Susan McNeill of the home, Son, Bryan McNeill of Broadway, Daughters Cameron McNeill (Gina) of Sanford and Ashley Longman (David) of Broadway.  His sister, Joanie Tyree (Larry) of Broadway his brothers Thomas McNeill (Tandy) of Shallotte, NC., Rodney McNeill (Delia) of Miami, FL. and Jeremy McNeill (Diane) of Ft Lauderdale, FL. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: Brody "Wormy" (My Big Buddy) McNeill, Keegan "Toad" (My Little Buddy) McNeill, and Everlea "Charlie" Longman. A visitation will be Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday at Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full Masonic Rites by Friendship Lodge # 763. Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com
