Vera Ann Goodwin Partin, age 86 of Chapel Hill, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Duke HomeCare and Hospice Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. She was born in Chatham County, daughter of the late Norris Goodwin and Mozelle Wilson Goodwin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald Wayne Partin and her granddaughter, Ashlyn Partin. Vera was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and retired after many years as a telephone operator with Southern Bell and GTE. She enjoyed a career in retail after retirement and loved to do word searches, crossword puzzles and ceramics. She is survived by her sons, Wayne Partin (Tammy) of Chapel Hill, NC and Billy Partin (Denise) of Silk Hope, NC; grandchildren, Austin Partin, Aaron Partin, Jason Partin and Alyssa Partin. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11am at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Umberger officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial gifts be made to the Duke HomeCare and Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 North Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27704.
