Verne Wilford Jackson Sr. age 75 of Sanford, died Wednesday (11/05/2014) at Sanford Health and Rehab. He was born in Upper Lisle, NY, son of the late Seth Lewis Jackson and Theresa Parker Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; Siblings Earl Jackson and Wilma Smith; Son Clifford Dwight "Sammy" Jackson and his granddaughter Amy Jackson. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday at the Flat Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Gary McCullough officiating. Surviving are his wife Dorothy Jacobs Jackson of the home; daughter Cynthia Jackson of Hartley, Iowa; Sons Verne Jackson Jr. of Tarboro, NC, Robert Jackson Sr. of Hillsborough, NC, Kevin Jackson of Sanford, NC and Jesse Jackson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Sister Edith Hall of McLean, NY and brother Arland Jackson of Groton, NY; Eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five step- grandchildren.
