Vernie Mae Shue Medlin, age 77 of Sanford, passed away on Friday (7/17/2026) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Carl Raymond Shue and Liller Mae Wilson Shue.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband Jerome Elton Medlin; daughter, Sandra McFarland and grand-daughter, Dana Shorb.  Vernie enjoyed playing bingo and working in her yard.
