Veronica Jean Bates Hall, age 71 of Sanford, died Monday (6/1/2020) at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.  She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Howard William Bates and Dolly Mae Cameron Ferguson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Brenda Hall Patterson and her sister Linda Bates Hopkins.  Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday (6/5/2020) at 11am at the Barbecue Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Surviving are her children Kathy Winans (John) of Cameron, NC, Lorie McMillian (Jeff) of Sanford, NC, Brandon Hall of Suffolk, VA, Joshua Hall of Sanford, NC, Buddy Hall (Lisa) of Cameron, NC and their father Johnny Hall of Vass, NC; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Friends and family may come to the funeral home on Thursday from 12pm-5pm to pay their respects and sign the register.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
