Victor B. Kilgore , 81 of Broadway passed away peacefully at his home on September 15, 2013. Victor was born in Delta, PA, the son of Clarence and Nellie Pierson Kilgore in 1932. He served in the U.S. Navy 1951-1955 and thereafter worked as a carpenter at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a faithful and beloved Elder of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church for many years, an enthusiastic member of the Early American Steam Engine and Old Equipment Society, and a caretaker for Camp Donegal of Airville, PA. Subsequent to his move to NC in 2006 he was a faithful member and Elder of Broadway Presbyterian Church, as well as a volunteer for the Christian United Outreach Center.
Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Jean, a sister- Harriett Garcia of Havre de Grace, MD, a brother- Larry Kilgore of Airville, PA; Three daughters, Cathy Griffith (and Jeff) of Broadway, NC, Bonnie Kilgore(and Rick Kearney) of Gardners, PA and Patti Gerlach (and Eric) of Langhorne, PA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway, NC on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 6-8pm. The funeral will be at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Sunnyburn, PA on Thursday Sept. 19 at 2pm with visitation in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
