Vincent Ross Nowell Sr., age 59 of Sanford, died Saturday (5/31/2014) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was born on April 15, 1955, son of the late Thornton Benjamin Nowell and Thelma Rickman Nowell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00am, Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Sonny Griswold officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Lee Memory Gardens in Sanford. Surviving are his wife Christine Patricia Miller Nowell of the home; Daughter Stephanie Baker (Eddie) of Smithfield, NC; Son Vincent Ross Nowell Jr. of Sanford, NC; Sister Alice Nowell Craddock of Williamston, NC; Brother Charles Nowell of Durham, NC; Grandchildren Marrissa Nowell, Sara Coley, Lydia Baker, Brianna Baker and Clayton Baker. The family will receive friends from 10-11am Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway, one hour prior to the memorial service.
