Violet Thomas Braxton, 92, passed away in the early morning of July 25, 2022.  She was born June 16, 1930, in Harnett County to the late Sidney Gattis and Margaret C. Thomas.  Violet was preceded in death by her husband Reginald H. Braxton, her brothers, Cecil C. Thomas, Gattis B. Thomas, Sidney C. Thomas, Ted L. Thomas and J. Larry Thomas.  Violet is survived by her son, Reginald H. "Reggie" Braxton (Dee); daughter, Theresa B. Allen (Thel); sister, Ruth Thomas Cashion (Roy) and brother Halford P. Thomas (Gail).  Violet was a graduate of Boone Trail High School and attended Flora McDonald College and Hardbargers Business School.  Violet deeply loved her family and made a wonderful home for them.  She will be forever missed but will always be in our hearts and loving memories.  A celebration of Violet's life will be held on Saturday (7/30/2022) at 11am at Leaflet Presbyterian Church with David McDowell officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the church sanctuary.  A private family interment will be at 10am Monday (8/1/2022) at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Leaflet Presbyterian Church, c/o Gail Thomas, 2510 Lloyd Stewart Road, Broadway, NC 27505.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements by Smith Funeral Home, Broadway.
