Virginia W. Stephens, age 87, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 14, 2012 at her home. Virginia was born on March 30, 1925, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Fannie B. Wallace and Lacey Wallace. She owned and operated Steve's Kennels for 50+ years and loved all animals, family, camping but most of all her husband Wilbur and their poodle Cricket. She was preceded in death by her son, Wilbur Ralph Stephens Jr., Sister Fannie Humphreys and brother Billy Wallace. She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Wilbur R. Stephens Sr.; a daughter Barbara Cashion and husband Barry of Sanford; Grandchildren Steve Stephens (Lee), Debbie Dollar, Eric Cashion (Ginny) and Kimberly Davidson (Rafe); Nine great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends at the family home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Monday at the Rocky Fork Christian Church with Rev. Misty Mowery officiating. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rocky Fork Christian Church Fellowship Hall for lunch, after the conclusion of the burial. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
