Wendell Autry "PeeWee" McNeill, age 84 of Broadway, passed away on Saturday (5/31/2025) at the First Health Hospice Home in Pinehurst. He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Mattie McNeill Hunter.  He was preceded in death by his mother, sister, Kathleen Green and his grandson, Gavin McNeill.  Wendell, known to many as "Pee Wee", was a man who loved the simple things in life.  He was a people person, spending many hours with his friends around Broadway, especially enjoying the time spent at Broadway Hardware and Jones Bros. Garage.   He enjoyed spending time on his tractor, plowing the fields and taking care of his chicken houses. "Pee Wee" was also proud of his Dodge Ram truck and his GTX Plymouth.  He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  He is survived by his wife, Foy Sue McNeill of the home; children, Jennifer McNeill Byerly and husband, Darrell Jr. of Broadway, NC, Dale McNeill Rice and husband John of Sanford, NC and Wendell Keith McNeill  of Broadway, NC; step-sisters, Judy Rosser of Broadway, NC, Betty Oldham and husband, Lacy of Sanford, NC and Mary Sue Angel of Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Joshua Bradford, Emily Goodale, Jessica Butler, Brandon Butler, Maddie Byerly and ten great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening (6-2-2025) from 6-8pm at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Multi-Purpose Building.  Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday (6-3-2025) at 2pm at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev.
