William "Billy" Hal Bridges Stewart, age 51 of Broadway, passed away on Saturday (5/21/2022) at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.  He was born on May 4, 1971, son of Virginia Dianne Stewart.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hal and Myrt Stewart.  After graduation from high school, Billy played football for Chowan College.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday (5/27/2022) at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery.  Surviving is his mother, Dianne Stewart of Broadway, NC.  Daughter, Morgan A. Ramsey and husband Ryan of Leland, NC.  Sisters, Candy Cockerham and husband James and Heather Giles and husband Carr of Broadway, NC; and grandchildren, Bentley Ramsey and Gracie Ramsey.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of James and Candy Cockerham.   In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Smith Funeral Home of Broadway for funeral expenses.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
