William Thomas "Tommy" Cox, age 53 of Sanford, died Wednesday (1/11/2017) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Lee County, son of Odessa Gladden Cox and the late William Edward Cox. He worked for Performance Fibers for over 30 years and loved to hunt and fish. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at the Baptist Chapel Church with Rev. Alex Smith and Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Surviving is his wife, Kimberly Johnson Cox of the home. Daughter Crystal Cox Stratton and husband Ron of Sanford, NC. Sons Matthew Cox and wife Lauren of Sanford, NC and Will Cox and Hunter Cox both of the home. Brother Steve Cox of Sanford, NC and Three grandchildren Nathan Stratton, Ava Stratton and Truett Cox. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
