William "Bill" Lanier Walters, age 68 of 11220 Hwy 27 West Lillington, died Saturday (11/5/2011) in Virginia.  He was born on November 18, 1942 in Robeson County, son of the late William Neil Walters and Ruth Spartman Walters.  He was preceded in death by his parents and was retired from Sanford Finishing.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Friday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiaitng.  Surviving are his daughter, Mary W. Stone of Sanford, NC; Sons William A. Walters and Rodney L. Walters both of Sanford, NC; Sisters Ann Walters Simpson of Sanford, NC and Susan O'Neal Walters of Lillington,NC; Brother Autry Neil Walters and wife Mary of Lumberton,NC; Granddaughters Jessica M. Stone, Allison M. Stone and Emma Kidd.  The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm Friday prior to the funeral service at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  In lieu of flowers, the family requst memorial donations are made to the Smith Funeral Home PO Box 370 Broadway, NC 27505  for funeral expenses.  Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral  Home of Broadway.
