Obituary

Wilma Blankenship Taylor, age 76 of Cameron, passed away on Sunday (8/31/2025) at her home with her family by her side.  She was born in Webster County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Harvey Blankenship and Beatrice Sutton Blankenship.  She was preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings and her beloved husband of 50 years, Jack Patterson Taylor.  Wilma was a member of Good Shepherd Church and retired from Coty after 25 years of service.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and spending time with her family was one of her greatest joys.  She was known to make the best no bake cookies and had a special place in her heart for the little children in her family and at church.  She helped with bible school and enjoyed caring for others throughout her life.  She is survived by her son, Tim Taylor (Angelia) of Cameron, NC; daughter, Sharon Brooks (Richard) of Lillington, NC; brother, Nick Blankenship of Vass, NC; sister, Joy Blankenship of Parma, Ohio; grandchildren, Cynthia Hahn, Christopher Hahn, Megan Taylor Cotthoff, Jonathan Taylor, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday (9/6/2025) at 2:00pm at Good Shepherd Church, 246 Flynn McPherson Road, Cameron, NC 28326, with Pastor Don Flynn officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Tim and Angelia Taylor.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts made to Good Shepherd Church.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home, Broadway Inc.
