Denny Lane Hunter, age 71 of Sanford, passed away on Friday (6/5/2020) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  He was born in Lee County on September 4, 1948, son of the late William Royce Hunter and Jessie Copeland Hunter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, children, Scotty Hunter and Christy Hunter; siblings, Barney Hunter, Gaye Hunter Watson, Joey Hunter, Johnny Hunter, Randy Hunter and Donna Hunter.  Denny was a Veteran of the United States Army, and loved golfing, playing the guitar and his work as a carpenter.  The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.  Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Brenda Pleasants Hunter of the home.  Daughters Amy Hunter Carter and husband Jeff of Sanford, NC and Jessie Hunter Stewart and husband Brian of Estero, Florida.  Special niece, Donna Bibey of West End, NC and nephew Ross Hunter of Sanford, NC.  Brother- in- law, Terry Pleasants and wife Cathy of Sanford, NC, grandchildren Jeffrey Carter, Amanda Carter, Michael Phillips, Maddox Stewart, Ashton Hancox, Rylee Bibey and seven great-grandchildren.
